What is Arduino?
Arduino is an open-source electronics platform based on easy-to-use hardware and software. Arduino boards are able to read inputs – light on a sensor, a finger on a button, or a Twitter message – and turn it into an output – activating a motor, turning on an LED, publishing something online. You can tell your board what to do by sending a set of instructions to the microcontroller on the board. To do so you use the Arduino programming language (based on Wiring), and the Arduino Software (IDE), based on Processing.
Thanks to its simple and accessible user experience, Arduino has been used in thousands of different projects and applications. The Arduino software is easy-to-use for beginners, yet flexible enough for advanced users. Arduino is a key tool to learn new things. Anyone – children, hobbyists, artists, programmers – can start tinkering just following the step by step instructions of a kit or sharing ideas online with other members of the Arduino community.
Why Arduino Starter Kit?
You can get started with electronics quickly and easily with the Arduino Starter Kit - no prior experience required. The Arduino Starter Kit has universal appeal to STEAM fans at home, businesses in STEAM industries, and schools alike. No prior experience is required, as the kits introduce both coding and electronics through fun, engaging, and hands-on projects.
You can use the starter kit to learn about current, voltage, and digital logic as well as the fundamentals of programming. There’s an introduction to sensors and actuators and how to understand both digital and analog signals. Within all this, you’ll be learning how to think critically, learn collaboratively, and solve problems.
Course Objective
To allow participants to learn electronics and coding in a self-paced and fun way, participants will receive a thorough hands-on education on various commonly used electronic components such as LEDS, Resistors, Capacitors and more. Each session culminates to a project that participants will have to complete.
Recommended Age: 14 years old and above
No. of Videos: 47 videos
Total Video Runtime: Approx. 260mins*
Instructor: Mr Ali Asghar (MOE-Registered Robotics Trainer)
Includes Certificate of Completion
This online course is suitable for beginners who are new to electronics and coding.
Outcome
Through this project, participants will become adept at coding and electronics. Participants will also be able to build various mechanisms and structures out of the build elements provided in the kit.
Students will develop an understanding of the The Arduino Programming Language, which is basically a framework built on top of C++ and platform as they practice modifying the program to attain desired movements.
