Creativity, Collaboration, Communication and Critical Thinking are skills that have been identified as fundamental and important in preparing students for a future. A future of the 4th Industrial Revolution where digital systems will be more prevalent in our lives. LEGO® Education Academy supports LEGO teacher development in acquiring the competencies necessary to foster student success and engagement. This collaborative course offers teachers the opportunity to learn, practice, and master new skills that will help them deliver effective STEM education experiences using LEGO Education solutions.

Our LEGO® Education Academy will use solutions such as LEGO® MINDSTORMS® EV3 Core Set (Outdated) and LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Prime Core Set to allow teachers understand the full potential of the sets and how to use them to conduct Robotics & STEM education Lessons in your lego schools. All LEGO® Education Academy courses are facilitated by certified LEGO Education Academy Teacher Trainers. Every course teaches effective strategies for using LEGO Education solutions, including product knowledge, lesson planning, and tips for efficient classroom management. Teachers will also receive a Certificate of Completion from our LEGO Education Academy certified lego teacher trainer after the course!

Led by a certified LEGO® Education Academy Trainer, this course will prepare you to teach STEM education using LEGO MINDSTORMS Education EV3. Experience how you can facilitate inspiring hands-on learning lessons that support your students to both achieve curriculum goals and boost 21st century skills like creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving in a collaborative environment. COURSE OBJECTIVE:

The training will enable teachers to:

  • Implement and utilize LEGO Education solutions in day-to-day teaching

  • Align the use of the material to curriculum standards

  • Create lesson plans according to LEGO® Education’s 4C methodology

  • Understand how LEGO® Education resources facilitate students’ learning

COURSE ASSESSMENT:

  • After the course, teachers are required to send in a 1-hour video of themselves conducting a class using LEGO® Education’s methodology.

CERTIFICATION:

  • Certificate of Course Completion will be provided upon 80% course attendance and 60% scored in the final assessment.

LEGO® Education Professional Development supports educators in acquiring the competencies necessary to foster student success and engagement. This range of collaborative courses offers educators the opportunity to learn, practice, and master new skills that will help them deliver effective STEAM experiences using LEGO® Education solutions.

All Professional Development courses are facilitated by certified LEGO Education Academy Teacher Trainers. Every course teaches effective strategies for using LEGO Education solutions, including product knowledge, lesson planning, and tips for efficient classroom management.

Face-to-Face training is delivered by LEGO Education Academy certified lego teacher trainer. The trainer provides the tools and resources educators need to successfully integrate LEGO® Education’s classroom solutions into existing STEM education curriculum and daily lesson planning. LEGO® Education courses provide educators the opportunity to experience lessons from a student’s perspective, master classroom management, and explore best practices in classroom implementation. Whether you are bringing these approaches to your own classroom or participating in our lego league ongoing support helps develop strong networks of lego schools.

Courses support ongoing educators training and development needs. We ensure high-quality training experiences through continuous monitoring of lego teacher training.

The training will enable teachers to:

A 3-day course (recommended but can be customised) consists of the following key elements:

  • Hands-on learning

  • Two-thirds of the course includes hands-on activities

  • One-third of the course includes presentation and discussion

  • Curriculum-relevant coursework

  • Lesson planning

  • 24 hours of training, including breaks
